Set Up Your Company Header and PDF Options in Contractor Estimate Pro
Start here, step 1 of 3 · All Contractor Estimate Pro guides
The customer PDF is what your customer sees. It should look like it came from your company, not from an app. Set your Company Header once in Settings, and it goes at the top of every PDF estimate you export. Then set Customer Estimate Options for the columns and terms on the customer PDF.
In this guide we set up a made-up company, Example Site & Utility Co., for our running example: a sitework bid with silt fence, excavation and subbase.
What you'll need
Contractor Estimate Pro on your iPhone, iPad or Android device
Your company name and the contact info you want on bids
Your logo saved on the device as an image
Any standard terms and conditions you put on your bids
You don't need a subscription for this. Settings is free to use. Only creating and editing estimates needs a subscription.
Customer PDF vs detailed PDF
PDF — Who it's for — What it shows
Customer PDF — Your customer — A polished bid with your company header
Detailed PDF — You and your office — More line detail: your costs and resources
This guide sets up the customer PDF. You'll export both in a later guide.
Step 1: Open Settings
Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen. The four tabs are Home, Estimates, Libraries and Settings.
The Settings screen lists, from the top:
Setting — What it says on screen
Dark Mode — Use dark theme throughout the app
Company Header — Configure company name, contact info, logo, and custom text for PDF header
Customer Estimate Options — Configure columns, terms and conditions for customer estimate export
Material Calculator — Set compacted weights, shrinkage factors, and custom labels
Edit Material and Equipment Types — Manage type lists for materials and equipment
Backup & Restore — Create backups and restore your data
Subscription — Start free trial, restore purchases, and manage your plan
Terms and Conditions — View terms and conditions at linesitetech.com
About — App version, features, and information
Clear Data / Reset to App Defaults — Erase all user data and settings, restore app defaults
This guide uses Company Header and Customer Estimate Options. Stay away from Clear Data / Reset to App Defaults (in red) unless you mean it. It erases your data and settings.
Step 2: Enter your Company Name and Company Information
Tap Company Header. The note at the top says it all: "This information will appear at the top of exported PDF estimates."
Company Name: your business name as you want customers to see it.
Company Information: a box with room for several lines. Put your street address on one line, city, state and ZIP on the next, then your phone and email.
For the example: Example Site & Utility Co., with its address, an office phone and an estimating email.
Step 3: Add your Company Logo
Under Company Logo, add your logo from the device. Once it's set, it shows in a preview with a Remove Logo button under it, in case you want to swap it later.
Step 4: Add Custom Text (Optional)
Custom Text (Optional) puts any extra line you want in the PDF header. The app suggests a tagline or a license number. Good choices:
Your license or registration number
A short tagline, like "Excavation, utilities and site work"
Your service area
Keep it short.
Step 5: Tap Save Settings
Scroll down and tap Save Settings. Then tap Settings at the top left to go back.
Step 6: Set your Customer Estimate Options
Back on Settings, tap Customer Estimate Options. The Settings screen describes it as the place to "configure columns, terms and conditions for customer estimate export."
Pick the columns you want your customer to see. Then save your standard terms and conditions here. Saved terms become presets you can pick each time you export. Think about how long your price is good for, what's excluded, and your payment terms. If you bid different kinds of work, save a set for each.
Step 7: Pick your terms when you export
When you export a customer PDF from an estimate, the Customer PDF Pricing sheet opens. At the top, Select Terms and Conditions lets you pick one of your presets for that bid. If you haven't saved any, it says: "No presets found. Configure presets in Settings → Customer Estimate Options."
The same sheet asks how to price the PDF:
Option — What it does
Use standard pricing — Use estimate pricing as-is. The app remembers your last choice.
Manual pricing overrides — Edit unit or extended prices for this export only
Round unit prices — Round to your selected step and manage the difference
Most of the time, Use standard pricing is the one. Exporting is covered in full in a later guide.
Step 8: Check it on a real PDF
Export a customer PDF and look at the top of the first page. Check the name, company information, logo and custom text. If something looks off, fix it in Settings → Company Header and export again.
Tips
Set it once. Your Company Header goes on every PDF estimate you export. You don't set it per bid.
Use a clean logo. A logo with a plain or clear background looks best on the PDF.
Save presets before you need them. Then picking terms at export takes one tap.
Dark Mode. Working at night or in the truck? Turn on Dark Mode at the top of Settings to use the dark theme throughout the app.
FAQ
Do I need a subscription to set this up? No. Settings is free to use.
Where do my terms and conditions go? Save them as presets in Settings → Customer Estimate Options. You pick one under Select Terms and Conditions each time you export a customer PDF.
