CHC, Stonex, SingularXYZ and ComNav Setup for RoverCore

Receiver setup by brand · All RoverCore guides

The steps below are for Android and follow standard NMEA over Bluetooth. Check on a known point before you rely on it.

On iPhone: RoverCore connects over Wi-Fi (TCP), not Bluetooth. The receiver needs NMEA output over Wi-Fi TCP. Check the receiver's manual or vendor app to see if your model offers it, and to get its IP address and TCP port. Some Bluetooth-only receivers can't connect to an iPhone. If yours can, turn on the same NMEA messages on that output and follow the iPhone steps in the connect guide.

On these receivers, NMEA is often off on Bluetooth until you turn it on. You do that once in the vendor app or web UI, then disconnect it and link RoverCore.

What you'll need

  • The receiver charged and on

  • The vendor app or web UI (LandStar, Cube-a, SurvStar, SingularSurv or Survey Master)

  • RoverCore on your phone

For all four brands

  1. Pair the receiver. On Android, pair it in Bluetooth settings first. It shows up by serial number. If it asks for a PIN, use 1234.

  2. In the vendor app or web UI, turn on NMEA on the Bluetooth port (brand steps below).

  3. Set rover mode so the receiver accepts RTCM from the phone.

  4. Set the vendor app's antenna height to 0 and turn IMU / tilt-compensated GGA off.

  5. Disconnect the vendor app.

  6. In RoverCore, pick the model so the offset is applied, enter the tape height to the bottom of the receiver (antenna height guide), and link on Connect.

CHC (i73, i73+, i83, i89, i93, i50)

  1. In LandStar (or the web UI): Device → IO Settings → Bluetooth → Settings.

  2. Turn on GPGGA and GPGST (GSA/GSV if listed) at 1 Hz. Save and start transmission.

  3. Work mode Rover, datalink Controller / Bluetooth (phone internet).

Stonex (S900, S900A, S990A, S800A)

  1. In Cube-a, SurvStar or the web UI: NMEA output → port Bluetooth.

  2. Turn on GGA and GST (plus GSA/GSV) at 1 Hz. Save.

  3. Rover datalink Controller internet / Bluetooth.

SingularXYZ (Y1, X1 / X1 Lite / X1 Pro)

  1. In SingularSurv or the web UI: Data output → Bluetooth (COM2) → NMEA.

  2. Turn on GGA and GST (plus GSA/GSV) at 1 Hz. Save.

  3. Rover datalink Phone / controller network (Bluetooth).

ComNav (T300, T300 Plus, T30)

  1. In the web UI or Survey Master: NMEA 0183 → port COM2 (Bluetooth).

  2. Turn on GPGGA and GPGST (plus GSA/GSV) at 1 Hz. Save.

  3. Rover datalink PDA / controller network.

  4. Set antenna height to 0 and tilt off in Survey Master before you disconnect it.

Tips

  • No position after linking? NMEA is probably still off on the Bluetooth port. Go back to step 2.

  • One corrections source. With the datalink set to the phone, use RoverCore NTRIP with RTCM forward. Don't also run NTRIP in the vendor app.
