ArduSimple RTK Setup for RoverCore
Receiver setup by brand · All RoverCore guides
The steps below are for Android and follow standard NMEA over Bluetooth. Check on a known point before you rely on it.
On iPhone: RoverCore connects over Wi-Fi (TCP), not Bluetooth. The receiver needs NMEA output over Wi-Fi TCP. Check the receiver's manual or vendor app to see if your model offers it, and to get its IP address and TCP port. Some Bluetooth-only receivers can't connect to an iPhone. If yours can, turn on the same NMEA messages on that output and follow the iPhone steps in the connect guide.
ArduSimple kits ship sending NMEA over Bluetooth at 1 Hz. Only reconfigure if someone changed it: u-center rover config for the ZED-F9P, or UPrecise on COM2 for the UM980. Make sure GGA, GST, GSA and GSV are on.
The pairing is different depending on the kit, so find yours below.
What you'll need
Your ArduSimple kit charged and on
RoverCore on your phone
For portable kits: your antenna's offset
RTK Handheld 2
Pair the Bluetooth module (Classic). On Android, pair it in Bluetooth settings first.
RTCM from the phone passes straight through. No extra receiver setting.
Link it in RoverCore on Connect.
RoverCore adds 64 mm (bottom of the enclosure).
RTK Smart Antenna (BLE)
On Android, don't pair it in Bluetooth settings. On Connect, scan for SmartAnt. BLE is the factory default.
In the Smart Antenna configuration, set tilt disabled and pole length 0.
If position comes in but the fix stays single: RTCM over BLE isn't reliable. Go to the web UI → Connectivity and switch Bluetooth from BLE to Classic. Then pair that device (on Android, in Bluetooth settings) and link it on Connect.
RoverCore adds 80.7 mm (bottom of the 5/8″ thread).
Portable kits
Pair the Bluetooth module (Classic).
Link it in RoverCore on Connect.
Enter your antenna's ARP-to-phase-centre offset. Use NGS AS-ANT2BCAL or AS-ANT3BCAL when that's your antenna.
Antenna height
Tape to the point listed for your kit above (bottom of the enclosure on the Handheld 2, bottom of the 5/8″ thread on the Smart Antenna) and set it once in RoverCore (antenna height guide).
FAQ
Why won't my Smart Antenna fix? RTCM over BLE isn't reliable. Switch it to Classic (step 3 above).
