Hemisphere S631 and S321 Setup for RoverCore

Receiver setup by brand · All RoverCore guides

The steps below are for Android and follow standard NMEA over Bluetooth. Check on a known point before you rely on it.

On iPhone: RoverCore connects over Wi-Fi (TCP), not Bluetooth. The receiver needs NMEA output over Wi-Fi TCP. Check the receiver's manual or vendor app to see if your model offers it, and to get its IP address and TCP port. Some Bluetooth-only receivers can't connect to an iPhone. If yours can, turn on the same NMEA messages on that output and follow the iPhone steps in the connect guide.

Models: S631, S321 / S321+.

You set the Hemisphere up once in its WebUI, then link it in RoverCore like any Classic receiver.

What you'll need

  • The receiver charged and on

  • The phone's Wi-Fi, to join the receiver's Wi-Fi for the WebUI

  • RoverCore on your phone

Steps

  1. Pair the receiver. On Android, pair it in Bluetooth settings first. The S631 shows up by serial number. If it asks for a PIN, use 1234.

  2. Open the WebUI. Join the receiver's Wi-Fi and open http://192.168.10.1. Log in with the receiver's login from the Hemisphere manual or the label on the receiver.

  3. Turn on NMEA. Under NMEA & Athena Log, turn on GGA, GST, GSA and GSV on the Bluetooth port. 1–5 Hz is enough. 10 Hz is a paid option and you don't need it.

  4. Set the data link. Set Data Link → Rover/Bluetooth so the receiver accepts RTCM from the phone. Or use the receiver's own modem and leave RTCM forward off in RoverCore. Not both.

  5. S631 only: in the WebUI, and in any Hemisphere field app, set antenna / pole height to 0 and turn tilt off.

  6. Link it in RoverCore on Connect (connect guide).

Antenna height

Tape to the bottom of the receiver and pick your model in RoverCore (antenna height guide). RoverCore adds:

ModelOffset RoverCore addsS63170.1 mm (bottom of the 5/8″ mount)S321 / S321+131.9 mm

Tips

  • One corrections source. Phone NTRIP with RTCM forward, or the receiver's modem. Never both.

  • Height and tilt in one place only. On the S631, zero the height and turn tilt off on the receiver so RoverCore doesn't take the height off twice.
